tbbfpodcast36 PHONOCAKE Aiming to present the local electronic music scene on a wider scale, the Dresden based netlabel Phonocake releases electronic music by artists from Dresden since June 1, 2003. Since 2006 we also release music from friends and artists worldwide, from Russia, South America and Europe. We made the online music debuts of artists like Disrupt, Alec Tronic, Modul, Kryptic Universe, Madstyle and Mr. Incognito possible. Our musicians do their music mainly in the free time, but mostly for more than ten years. You can find music in the styles IDM, melodic Electronica, Experimental and all possible combinations of it here. We have a strong free access and free culture attitude. In 2010 we reactivated the label sleepycity.org as our sister label. Besides this Phonocake sees itself as a platform for artists to interact and act locally.

tbbfpodcast34 « Plain » means clear and concise – it is literally defined as « simple » and « without pattern » – yet we refuse to be pushed into a corner. Far from extroverted boasts and show-off attitudes, we want indepedence, confidence and originality – music that speaks for itself.

Plain Productions was founded in 2001 by Manu Harmilapi. The label started with vinyl-releases of Cycom (« Void ») and Barth (« Schizophrenic ») and soon evolved into one of Germany’s most break-dominant Drum’n'Bass labels.
2005 saw a relaunch of Plain Productions as « Plainaudio ». Splitting up its label catalogue into three different categories, Plainaudio became an outlet for Leftfield Drum’n'Bass, electronic and experimental music on a free CC-license basis featuring an ever since growing roster of artists, from Reinforced legend Alpha Omega to Lithuania’s brilliant IJO, from N-Noize’s Photek reminiscense to Wales’ wizard UV, from Austrian Simon/Off’s Coffeehouse-Dubstep to the warm-cold-warm musings of Repetition|Distract.

The expansion of Plainaudio‘s catalogue to include Techno and experimental music was not only based upon our experiences with 4/4-beats, but on the idea of bridging the gap between Drum’n'Bass and other styles of Electronica that we like. This has allowed us to break free from stereotypes and at the same time offered a broader range of music – just plain.

The Petcord netlabel is a German/Greek/Spanish collaboration between Olliver Wichmann, Giorgos Stefanou and René Muñoz Córdova – all three netaudio artists themselves – that concentrates on experimental, sometimes gloomy electroacoustic music and explores original ways of musical expression. It is striving to get rid of tagging music with unsatisfying keywords that hardly do any justice to artists, because they take away their individuality. At the same time, however, the Petcord netlabel believes that soundscapes lacking any interesting structures are essentially indistinguishable from arbitrary randomness. So anything in between these mentioned polarities is what the Petcord netlabel tries to gather and define as its preferred line of music.

Giorgos Stefanou - HrznHue D

Electric Landscapes Of Rebellion - III

Nodepet –  Behind The Mask

René Muñoz Córdova - Contenido Manifiesto 2

KMPLX has it’s roots in breakcore, a « musical » genre without the usual pretentious bs that comes with electronic music. KMPLX isn’t saying that there is such a thing as bad music. KMPLX loves all. The thing is KMPLX feels that sweden needs something a little bit messed up. Something that isn’t very well represented in our cold land. KMPLX hope to contribute to the diversity of the swedish music scene!
